A YouTube ad campaign in Spain is the broadest way to tell your brand's story through video to people watching in Spanish, Catalan, English or Turkish. It takes the right format, the right targeting and, above all, a video worth watching. I've been managing YouTube and video ads with Gizli Medya since 2009, I'm one of the co-founders of Digitalent Inc., and I live in Spain.
My YouTube experience goes beyond ads. I was part of managing more than 50 sub-channels and Content ID on Avşar Film's YouTube network, and I've worked on the digital strategy of artists like Murat Boz, Ebru Gündeş and Emre Altuğ. I also run my own vlog channel in Spain, so I see firsthand what Spanish viewers click on.
For ongoing management of your channel, see YouTube channel management; for shooting the ad video, video production in Spain; and for a plan that includes other platforms, digital marketing in Spain.
Who is it for? Brands with a story to tell, businesses launching a new product or branch, event and concert organizers, visually strong sectors like tourism and real estate, and businesses that want to reach the Turkish community in Spain. In my experience, YouTube works best not on its own but alongside search ads and social media.
YouTube ads are managed through Google Ads. The format depends on your goal and the video you have. Here are the formats listed on Google's help pages as of October 2026, and how I use them:
Format rules can change from time to time; I always check the current rules when setting up a campaign.
You can target all of Spain, specific cities or a set radius. Language, interests and lists built from your website visitors or channel viewers are the layers I use most. If you're targeting the Turkish community, we prepare Turkish videos with a Turkish language setting; for local audiences, a Spanish version and, if needed, a Catalan one.
The quality of a YouTube ad depends more on the video than on targeting. I organize commercial shoots with local crews in Spain and cut 6-second, 15-second, long and vertical versions from a single shoot. I cover the editing side in my post on video editing.
Success in YouTube ads isn't just view counts. Depending on the goal, we track view rate, new subscribers to your channel, visitors to your site and conversions. If cookie consent and conversion tracking aren't set up correctly on your site, Google Ads will underreport results from YouTube. That's why I check the tracking setup before the campaign, and every month I share a simple report on which video and which audience worked.
The channel where your ad videos live needs to be set up properly: channel name, description, playlists and the link to your Google Ads account. If you don't have a channel or it's messy, we sort it out before the ads.
If you want to plan YouTube together with other channels, see advertising agency in Spain and Meta ads in Spain.
I apply these principles to both horizontal and vertical versions. If you have a corporate story to tell, I describe the process in my post on corporate films.
The Turkish community in Spain watches both Turkish and Spanish content on YouTube. A Turkish ad grabs attention within this audience, but reaching local viewers takes a Spanish version, and around Barcelona a Catalan one. To get different language versions from the same shoot, I plan the shoot for it from the start: short sentences, footage that suits voiceover, and framing that leaves room for subtitles. We do voiceovers with native speakers or controlled AI voices; more on that on the AI advertising in Spain page.
To plan a YouTube campaign, write to me through the contact page with a short note about your brand, your target audience and whether you already have a video. If needed, I'll prepare a quote that includes the video shoot.
I'm not someone who only builds websites or only runs ads. For 22 years I've delivered work across every area a brand needs online, in Türkiye, the USA and Spain. That means you don't have to split the work among different agencies.
Whatever language your audience speaks, I deliver the work in that language. We work together in Turkish; the website, AI project, ad plan and content come out in Spanish, English, Catalan or any other language you need.

We talk about what you expect from the ads: calls, WhatsApp messages, bookings, sales or awareness.
Ad accounts are opened in your name, tracking tags and cookie consent are set up and conversions are defined.
City, language and audience targeting is set, and ad visuals, videos and copy are prepared.
The campaign goes live, and from the first days budget and targeting are adjusted based on results.
Regular reports show what worked, and the next period's plan is built on that.
It depends on your goal. I recommend skippable in-stream for storytelling, bumpers for short reminders, Shorts for mobile and younger audiences, and Demand Gen for creating demand.
With skippable in-stream ads, viewers can skip after 5 seconds. Non-skippable and bumper ads can't be skipped.
Video is a must. I can organize a shoot with local crews in Spain or make short videos from your existing visuals.
Yes. We can target by city or by a specific radius.
Yes, ad videos need to be uploaded to a YouTube channel. I handle the channel setup and the Google Ads link.
Awareness campaigns get impressions from day one, but seeing which audience and video work takes a few weeks. The exact time depends on budget and goals.
Let's discuss your goal and budget and decide together where it's best to start.
