The question businesses ask most when they want to run Meta ads in Spain is how to reach the right people on Instagram and Facebook. The answer lies in splitting by city and language, choosing the right campaign objective and measuring in line with cookie rules. I've been managing social media ads with Gizli Medya since 2009, I'm one of the co-founders of Digitalent Inc., and I live in Spain, working with Turkish and international businesses.
In Spain, Meta ads are a strong channel especially for restaurants, beauty, clinics, real estate, events and e-commerce. But showing the same ad to Madrid and Barcelona, and to Turkish and Spanish speakers, all at once burns through the budget fast.
Meta is one part of the advertising plan. For a cross-platform plan, see advertising agency in Spain; for Barcelona-specific campaigns, advertising agency in Barcelona; and for the big picture, digital marketing in Spain.
Who is it for? Restaurants, cafés, beauty and health businesses that take bookings or appointments, real estate and service companies that collect quote requests, online stores selling to Spain, and event organizers. If you've run campaigns before without results, my first step is to review your current ad account and tell you whether the problem is targeting, creative or tracking.
A successful Meta campaign rests on three things: the right objective, good creative and reliable tracking. If one of them is missing, raising the budget won't fix it.
In Spain I usually start at the city or metro area level. If you want to reach the Turkish community, limiting the language setting to Turkish works well; for local customers I add Spanish copy, and Catalan copy for local audiences in Barcelona. For tourist-facing businesses, splitting the audience into short-term visitors and residents sharpens the message.
The Meta Pixel sends conversion data to Meta from the browser, while the Conversions API sends it from your server. Setting up both strengthens tracking. In Spain, analytics and ad cookies shouldn't run without visitor consent, so I set things up together with your consent management tool and limit data sharing for users who don't consent.
In Spain, Reels and Stories placements take a big share of the ad budget. I make vertical videos with sound that show what you offer within the first two seconds. When needed, I organize video shoots with local crews in Spain. I run Turkish and Spanish ads with separate creatives; putting subtitles in two languages on a single video usually weakens both.
After launch, I compare creatives and audiences during the first weeks. I turn off weak ads and make new versions of the ones that perform well. In the monthly report, instead of impressions and clicks, I share on a single page the number of forms, messages, bookings and sales, what they cost, and my recommendation for next month. The ad account and your page stay in your name; I'm added as an admin.
Meta's Advantage+ sales campaigns and Advantage+ leads campaigns use AI to automatically manage budget, placements and audience. They work well for accounts with enough conversion data. For a new account or a very narrow audience, I prefer to collect data with a manual setup first. I describe the broader picture of automation on the AI advertising in Spain page.
I wrote about the differences between Instagram and TikTok ads in Spain in detail in this guide. For day-to-day management of your social accounts, see social media management in Spain.
People who keep seeing the same image on Instagram and Facebook stop noticing the ad after a while. That's why I plan at least a few new creatives every month: a new video, a different headline, a seasonal offer. In summer I put messages for tourists first, and in winter messages for residents. When preparing new creatives I use AI tools to generate variations, and I make the final pick based on how well it fits your brand.
To work on your Meta ads together, write to me through the contact page with a short note about your business, your target city and your current ad account, if you have one. I'll review your existing campaigns and come to our first call with concrete recommendations.
I'm not someone who only builds websites or only runs ads. For 22 years I've delivered work across every area a brand needs online, in Türkiye, the USA and Spain. That means you don't have to split the work among different agencies.
Whatever language your audience speaks, I deliver the work in that language. We work together in Turkish; the website, AI project, ad plan and content come out in Spanish, English, Catalan or any other language you need.

There's no fixed number; it depends on the city, industry and goal. I recommend starting with a budget that collects enough data to measure, then scaling up based on results.
